YEAH YEAH YEAHS - NEW SINGLE + VIDEO 'SKELETONS'

After recently storming the nation on tour and more recently the Hottest 100, single number three from YYYs It's Blitz!, the tender Skeletons, will released all across the regular digital portals on February 9. The digital bundle includes the original mix, acoustic version and the stunningly haunting new video, directed by Barney Clay. Here's what Karen O has to say:

"Thought you've seen the last of us? How we've missed you so over the holiday break! BRAND NEW VIDEO for YYY's wintry lullaby SKELETONS off of It's Blitz! Shot on site at the legendary Hollywood Forever Cemetery, director AKA ghostbuster Barney Clay brings you his final visual instalment for the band's most beloved and departed tracks."

CIRCA 1979 - ROUND UP

Modular and Sydney Festival’s 80s avant-garde revival, Circa 1979: Signal to Noise came to a close on Monday as we packed up the gig photos and rare records from the Signal to Noise exhibition. Over four days electronic gurus from Sydney and Melbourne brushed the dust off their synths and descended upon the inner west to show us where dance music came from. Severed Heads melted the Becks’ Festival Bar, John Cale added keynote presentations (watch/listen HERE) to his ridiculously long list of talents while debates raged on amidst the handmade posters and fliers in the Sound Lounge.

As the sound clash in the Seymour Centre dissipates your getting a second chance to relive the glory of Australia’s musical pioneering hey-day with a few galleries and videos we’ve hoarded for safe keeping along with a full colour catalogue of the Signal to Noise Exhibition.

KIM 'PROG CAST' MODCAST

It's a well known fact that the best things in life come in two parts. Take this week's Modcast for example, put together by the one and only Kim Moyes (aka KIM/Kim from the Presets) who has provided us with a whopping two week's work of musical ear candy. This first installment, the ambient 'Prog cast' is an ode to synthesisers, prog and all things chill. Stay tuned in coming weeks for the 'Clubby' mix.
